Went to Rouse’s for my lunch today, 2 plums, two bananas, a pint of cottage cheese. Sounds healthy. Sounds cheap too, five bucks. Food costs way too much here in the French Quarter. And speaking of sounds. On my way back to my cave, the music thundering out of a Bourbon Street establishment, described as “a churning dynamo” magnetized me to the sidewalk outside. And because I am standing there with my banana in my hand, everyone began to stop and listen as well. The place was relatively empty, but the side-walk was full. If you get a chance get this music into your head, it makes holding your banana an out of the body experience. These guys were jamming so hard the stage was rocking and they were a blur.
