THE National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is investigating reports received today of an oil spill in Runaway Bay, St Ann.

There is also an unconfirmed report that oil has been spotted along the coast in Discovery Bay in the vicinity of Port Rhodes.

NEPA investigators believe that the oil may be linked to the spill in Runaway Bay. The source of the spill has not yet been ascertained.

A response team comprising NEPA personnel and the Coast Guard is investigating the spill. The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is also assessing the situation.
